Andrew Roberts
Andrew Roberts received his B.A. in Speech and Theatre from St. Lawrence University and immediately embarked on a whirlwind acting career. His professional acting debut in West Side Story at the New London Barn Playhouse, opposite Taye Diggs, garnered such rave reviews as, "Andrew Roberts as Indio" and "Seat cushions available." A few years later, at the Pocono Renaissance Faire, he discovered outdoor/interactive theater and stage combat. He's been sword fighting (and interactive theatering) his way around the country for the last coupla decades, skipping (or driving a Volkswagen Beetle) from Renaissance Festivals in PA, VA, MA, MN, TX, FL, & WI, to Navy Pier and Piccolo Theater in Chicago (& Evanston), to the Washington Opera at the Kennedy Center in D.C.. "How many restaurants is that?" you ask? 12ish. He also found time to coach soccer and basketball and to teach theatre, stage combat, and history along the way.
Recent credits include fight direction for Macbeth and Romeo and Juliet for Hampshire Shakespeare Company, Peter Pan at UMass Amherst; Peter and the Starcatcher, In the Heights at the Williston Northampton School, and fight choreography for Our Lady of Kibeho and The Taming of the Shrew at Smith College.
He is lead teacher at the Hampshire Shakespeare Summer Theatre Workshops.
Andrew earned is M.Ed from American International College and is certified to teach Middle & High School History.
